Muñoz expressed moderate optimism about projections for 2025, indicating that economic growth this year could close at 1.8%, exceeding initial expectations. “Thanks to Bogota's leadership in the development of the entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem, the outlook for next year is encouraging,” he said. This environment has attracted investors from countries such as the United States, Spain and Mexico, generating more than 72,000 direct jobs in the region.
Bogota is also attracting the attention of venture capital funds which, worldwide, expect to close 2024 with investments close to USD 324 billion. Among the most prominent sectors is generative artificial intelligence, which is projected to reach an investment of USD 27.8 billion by the end of the year, driven by applications in natural language models and efficient business solutions.
Another key sector is autonomous mobility, with a projected global investment of USD 10.4 billion in 2024, which includes technologies for autonomous vehicles and transportation without human intervention. This segment is gaining relevance in Colombia as a development opportunity that can attract large technological investments to the country.
Muñoz highlighted that, despite the geopolitical challenges, next year presents a favorable outlook for foreign companies looking to scale their business models by relying on the country's public and private institutions. “Bogota-Region not only offers opportunities, but also the necessary support for investments to prosper and generate economic and social impact,” he said.
With its dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem, its focus on technology and innovation, and its ability to attract global venture capital, Bogota presents itself as an unrivaled destination for foreign investors.
2025 will be the ideal time to bet on a city that combines economic stability, business opportunities and an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth.
