This achievement is the result of the policy that promotes the export of Knowledge-Based Services (KBS), led by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, in collaboration with Colombia Productiva and the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The Colombian offer includes key sectors such as telemedicine, engineering, software development, education, advertising, marketing, audiovisuals and high value-added business process outsourcing (BPO). These services stand out not only for their quality, but also for their capacity for innovation and sophistication, characteristics that have enabled them to conquer demanding markets such as the United States, Canada, Spain, Mexico and Peru.

Of the beneficiary companies, 57% are microenterprises, 25% are small and 12% are medium-sized, demonstrating the inclusive reach of the programs. The regions with the greatest impact include Antioquia, Santander, Valle del Cauca, Atlántico, Cundinamarca and Bogotá, reinforcing the national commitment to a balanced and decentralized development strategy.

More than 50% of the strengthened companies belong to the software and applications sector, but other industries such as health (telemedicine), advertising, architectural design, engineering and performing arts also stand out. This is evidence of the country's capacity for diversification in the field of BCS.

The specialized programs implemented have improved productivity, fostered productive linkages and sophisticated the supply of services, thus ensuring that these companies are prepared to compete in the most demanding international markets.
